The original inspiration for my artwork was the experience of crossing the country by airplane. Driving on and looking at freshly laid, black tar road with freshly painted yellow lines is breathtaking to me. Observing the landscape from this perspective gives a sense of both the wild landscape and the structure humans have imposed on it. I started designing these prints with line drawings, which were then transferred to fabric pieces. Searching for fabric that represented the environment behind the printed image led me to green, tan and brown to represent lawns and landscaped spaces. The printed image relates to the developed path in grays, blues, and blacks; this inked line represents the paved roads leading to houses in a subdivision, city, or country field.

Each 18"x18" square may be purchased for $20 unframed (Framing can be done by the purchaser for about $20 per piece using Michael's Arts & Crafts sectional framing)
